The Satellite Centre is aimed at:

1. promoting INIA’s mandate at capacity building and advocacy in the field of ageing within the ASEAN countries;

2. dissemination of information on ageing within the region;

3. serving as a clearing house for INIA’s publications and other UN material on ageing ;

4. promoting closer collaboration between the countries themselves in the fields of aging;

5. setting up and maintaining a demographic data base for the member countries;

6. conducting annual training programmes in Singapore for personnel working in the field of ageing within the Member States;

7. co-ordinating ‘in situ’ training programmes within individual countries within the region.
